Al-Junayd (d. circa 910)
Junayd of Baghdad (Persian: جُنیدِ بَغدادی; Arabic: الجنيد البغدادي) was a Persian [4] [5] mystic and one of the most famous of the early Islamic saints. He is a central figure in the spiritual lineage of many Sufi orders.

Was a contemporary of Junayd and Sufi Biography: Abol-Qasem-al-Jonaid (Junaid Baghdadi) Abo l-Qasem al-Jonaid ibn Mohammad al- Khazzaz al-Nehawandi, son of a glass-merchant and nephew of Sari al-Saqati, close associate of al-Mohasebi, was the greatest exponent of the sober school of Sufism and elaborated a theosophical doctrine which determined the whole course of orthodox.

Junayd al-Baghdadi is a well-known Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi mentions that Al-Ḥallāj, once a student of al-Junayd, asked him, but he did not answer, saying that he was dishonest. Al-Hafiz added that Junayd once told Al-Ḥallāj: “You have opened a loophole in Islam that only your chopped head can fill.” Subsequently, al-Ḥallāj separated from al-Junayd and his Tariqa.
